Oh my, that's a luxury. About 3 gig is more than enough for
most distros with standards apps with bells  and  whistles.
In this re-partitioning, you may lose some of  MDK perhaps,
and may have to re-install both these.

If your comp has important data, just  post  the  output of 
'fdisk -l' ... that would give a clearer picture.
