For ledger entry gnucash is good. Actually it is an attempt towards the MS Windows software called Quicken. The problem is the reports generated by gnucash - they are useless compared to the slick reports generated by Quicken. One of the reasons why I have not been able to discard Windows altogether. The day I get an accounting package like Quicken on linux platform, Windows can fly out through the window.
