AFAIK, re-written MBR would not be fixed by tomsrtbt. IIRC, it uses
an old 2.0.xx kernel (smaller size), and an old version of LILO. If
you have made a boot disk of your existing Linux installation with
"mkbootdisk" or manually, that would do. You need to boot into your
existing installation and run lilo from there, since the map insta-
ller would have made entries in /boot/* accordingly for the LILO
installed on your box.

If you do'nt have a boot disk, do not panic. If the other OS is Win
9x/ME install loadlin on the M$ partition and dual boot through
that. You need a copy of your existing kernel on floppy though. You
can re-run LILO once you are within your existing system.Make a few
boot disks thereafter.

Sub : Changing default OS under LILO LOST #182

Edit /etc/lilo.conf. Put a line in /etc/lilo.conf:
default=oslabel # where oslabel is label the preferred OS
Then, Do: /sbin/lilo -v
Now next time you start lilo, default OS will alter.
