The problem here is not your mobo or processor, it is your BIOS. Are
you sure, it will take on a 40 Gig ? Your BIOS may need changing, or,
put your old (smaller) HDD back.

What is the error. If you have all the needed libs on your box, it
should compile ...

Unless the downloaded rpm is statically compiled, it may not still
work because of missing runtime libs if any. AFAIK, SuSE and RH rpms
are interchangeable (MDK rpms have some extras). If it installs with-
out the --nodeps, it is likely to work. 1.5 mb from a dial up is quite
a lot for trial ... The choice is yours.
