This is my second posting to this site. Somehow my first one didnt get posted.

I am having some problems in configuring the network. First the redhat network
configurator used to go off as soon as it was started which I solved be upgrading that
package from to Red Hat 7.3s. Most of the other packages are Red Hat 7.2s.Now if I add
some route and go back to the previous step and again come back to the adding route
step, all the routes I had configured below are gone. If I just click on add a route,
leave the colums blank and press okay everthing is seen. A similar problem happens
with the netcfg also.

The interface eth0 didnt get started initially buy when I loaded the module 8139 (the
card is realtek and is seen in the io ports) eth0 gets started properly. ne2k-pci
couldnt be loaded.

Pinging the machine itself works but whenever I connect to some outside host, it says
"The host is unreachable. No route to host is found". I had copied the network
settings exactly from the older computer which this is replacing. I want to access the
net through a gateway and also access the local machines. I would be grateful if
anybody can help me in resolving this. Firewall is set to high with outside access to
ssh.
