Two ways:

1. Go to expert/custom installation and install only software found on
CD1. All the base packages (stuff that don't show up in available packages
list) are already on CD1. For example, to install just a webserver,
you don't need the other CDs at all.

2. (not recommended) When it asks for CD2, go to Alt-F2, and in the shell
there, chroot to /tmp/source (or wherever it has mounted the root disk of
the installation). Edit etc/lilo.conf, create a lilo.conf for yourself
(you will need the kernel image name etc. found in /boot). Run lilo,
add a root password and then abort the installation.

All post configuration can be done after reboot. For interfaces similar to
the installer's, run the appropriate *config tool - a partial list is:

netconfig
timeconfig
Xconfigurator
sndconfig
kbdconfig
mouseconfig
lokkit

The way to do this (somewhat reminiscent of windows :-) is to do a

touch /.unconfigured

as root and reboot.

If you are even more daring, prior to creating a lilo.conf, you can bring
up your network interface, and download the missing packages from any
of the redhat mirror sites and have a full working installation while
the installer is sitting idle waiting for CD2. :-)
