Hi,

On our new Red Hat 7.2 server, on console the eepro100 timeout
message is coming after say around 5 minutes of booting the machine.

eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!

What does this error indicate ?

Once this error comes, no machine can ping to this server. However after
restarting the network service pinging works but again after 5-10 minutes
above error.

Anything wrong in my network settings ?

/etc/sysconfig/network contains :

NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=appserver.dempos.com
GATEWAY=

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 contains :

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.20.3
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
ONBOOT=yes

Thanks in advance.

Peace

To search the contents of a .tar.bz2 without decompressing
try : tar -tjf file.tar.bz2 | grep "something" (OR try bzcat)
Note : In some versions of tar '-j' is not recognised. You may
have to use -I switch there (viz. 'tar -tIf file.tar.bz2').
