Firstly, wvdialconf actually recognized my modem and was able to communicate with it, although kppp and network configuration still is not able to do so. So I think there is some hope for my modem
Secondly, when I had option to use dialog/wizard in kppp, by mistake I chose wizard after selecting the 'dont show this again' option. So I am basically stuck now. I cant configure my dialup using the wizard as it has only predefined ISP's, and I cant go to the dialog since I clicked on the dumb option. Now, I really really really need to know how to use the dialog. Somebody please help me out. Rant : Where the hell does kppp keep its configuration script. Also bish, here is the output of dmesg | grep tty ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A And here is the kernel recompiling error message drivers/char/drm/drm.o: In function `sis_fb_alloc': drivers/char/drm/drm.o(.text+0x6953): undefined reference to `sis_malloc' drivers/char/drm/drm.o(.text+0x6996): undefined reference to `sis_free' drivers/char/drm/drm.o: In function `sis_fb_free': drivers/char/drm/drm.o(.text+0x6a88): undefined reference to `sis_free' drivers/char/drm/drm.o: In function `sis_final_context': drivers/char/drm/drm.o(.text+0x6f0e): undefined reference to `sis_free' make[1]: *** [kallsyms] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-3' make: *** [vmlinux] Error 2 make: *** No rule to make target `bzImage'.
