thanks for the info...actually i'm tying to make some
sort of all in one radio reciever for narrow band(and
possibly broad band too..and maybe a GPS reciever?) 
using GNU Radio...there have been a few developments
in that direction...esp AFAIK from what's been said on
the GNU radio mailing list....and whatever i've dug up
on the net...

i haven't done anything like this before...esp since i
don't have much of a BG in DSPs and signal
modulation(i'm doin 3rd year comp. engg in GEC) ..so
it'll be a nice learning experience for me too...

any help would be nice....
