this looks very familiar to what i got when one of my ram cards was
faulty.

and apprantly you seem to found the problem. the ram may not be
faulty, make sure the ram is properly inserted. and/or run some of the
ram checkers that check your ram for any problems. if the upgrade is
recent, try to have your dealer replace the RAM he sold you.

another thing, maybe just me, but if i had RAM that works well,
instead of exchanging it for and upgrade, i'd rather just buy the new
ram. it's always good to keep some redundant parts just in case.

i get a newletter from them and they mention something of a free
download. make a bootable floppy and then take it from there. check
first that your type of ram is supported.

i've never tried it out myself, so if anyone else knows better, please
step in.
