You might want to visit a LUG in (say) Kerala - ilug-cochin say ...
Well, I haven't visited the place as yet, but my Malayali colleagues at
a couple of former workplaces very much preferred to talk to each other
in Malayalam, despite others in the vicinity not speaking a word of the
language :)
I had a rather similar experience in the Hong Kong LUG - at least, the
one meeting there that I attended. They tend to have a 50-50 split -
half the program is in Chinese and the other half in English. The first
time I went, the interesting part (some dude had a palmtop - a sharp
zaurus or an iPaq - on which he was installing debian) was in chinese,
unfortunately :(
