redhat installs fine on these but getting X to work is bit of an hassle,
mainly because they come with an arcane bios which does not allow
alloctaing different sizes for the video ram ( for integrated video cards).
The default is 1Mb. One can squeeze in 1024 in locolor on it. Otherwise
there is a kernel patch which can steal memory from bios, which allows
better modes. However there are numerous latitude models, do check the
video card coming with it. It ranges from nvidia to i830. Same goes for
their inpiron sereis, you can give them a look too. They might be shade
cheaper.
