first of all the boot loader resides on the first 446 bytes of the hard disk. to tell u more about it. there are 2 ways u can use ur boot loader. one at MBR (master boot record) and the other at the first sector of ur harddisk. linux boot loaders can reside on both types. when using the later option u have to tell other boot loaders who is residing on MBR to load linux (loader) eg. NT loader etc.
if u know the exact specifications of ur partitions of ur hard disk then u can recover the lost partitions. by partitioing again with the same detials. ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
