hi,
i pasted my /etc/modules.conf, and even i tried login scripts specified one of
the user here, and in windows when i check, it shows it as PAP, not chap, this
is what i got in the details down. i m getting the erros messages in linux as
its for another connection. but the error i found in /var/log/messages in both
the isp accounts are same..so is there anything wrong in my os itself ? i m
using rh 7.3, without any upgrade. freshly installed,
Prabhu.

See that? Show us your /etc/modules.conf.

wvdial is supposed to be an intelligent dialer. It figures out whether
the ISP is using PAP or CHAP and feed in the values as required. Just
fill up the secrets file with your login parameters and it will do the
rest.

login prompt which we get after dialup, that is black windows for entering
login name and password, insted, we have to specify password before dailing it
and then it logs on directly,
---That's CHAP. Your windows dialer does the fill up.
