How much you can overburn depends on the brand of cd-r or cd-rw that you 
have and on the capability of your cd-writer in oversizing. You should 
be able to do about 78 minutes on a 74 minute cd, and about 82 to 88 
minutes on a 80 minute cd.

The command used (in cdrecord 2.0) is
cdrecord -overburn <cdimage.iso>
