Thank you.Well, then add that zone and see. What your dig output means is that your DNS server is authoritative for xyz.abc.com, but not for abc.com. Take a look at the output of dig soa abc.com and dig soa xyz.abc.com.
I added zone entries for abc.com(and created corresponding zone files) also. Now "dig soa xyz.abc.com" shows

Similarly I am getting equal output when do "dig soa abc.com"(ofcourse all xyz.abc.com replaced with abc.com).
But in cases of both domains I am getting Authority section only if I quiry SOA particularly.(like dig dig soa xyz.abc.com). What I am expecting from it is that even if do "dig any xyz.abc.com" it should show me the authority section. That is not happening!(or am expecting wrong?)
