ask me about it ... i am the member of the lab comittee of my insti. and i practically run the mail and web servers for the insti. The admin does'nt know *anything* ... imagine my plight when he asked me to create an account for him and another guy with administrative (root) access on one of the servers .... I mean I want to become a network security guy in future and I can't imagine i could'nt explain to him that a machine with so many administrative accounts is not exactly how u manage servers .... but he would'nt listen only ... This is me voicing my frustrations on the list ... but believe me .. ppl in India atleast still don't take security seriously ... and most admins at most companies don't know shit about what security is ... let alone implement a decent security policy ...Hope all this improves ...
