i think this is not working because u r passing a parameter to
xinetd ... and the shell must be taking start and stop parameters
also as commands .. which they r not !!try
"/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start"
i am not a shell programmer but writing within quotes is what i
usually do to get the same result on the console :)
