I would say, it is a very good idea and it has the potential of taking Linux to masses. There are a few other initiatives like indlinuux etc. going on and it may be a good idea to collaborate in what is going on (if you find it good from your point of view) as that can speed-up the progress towards a final usable product. A Hindi distro could be the beginning of other products coming into indian languages.
