we're doing a project on parallel processing.
The problem we are concerned with is regarding the PVM console.While we were
trying to add a host to the PVM console in a Linux cluster using the 'add hostname' the
following message was encountered.The node where the host is being added is system3.rit.
pvm>add system2.rit
0 successful
HOST DTID
system2.rit can't start pvmd
Auto diagonising Failed hosts
system2.rit...
Verifying Local path to "rsh";
Rsh found in /usr/bin/rsh -OK.
Testing Rsh/Rhosts Access to Host "system2.rit".
Rsh/Rhosts Access FAILED -"Permission denied".
Make sure host system2.rit is up and connected to a network and check it's DNS/IP address
Also verify that system3.rit is allowed rsh access on system2.rit
Add this line to $HOME/.rhosts on system2.rit
system3.rit root
We use RH 8.0, and rsh works on both the m/c. Please help.
