Hello all,
Some problem seems to have started up on my hitherto well functioning monitor. It fails to start into run level 5 GUI Mode. The log says that the VESA VBE DDC module fails to read the monitor data.
However I can boot into run level 3 and from there invoke "startx". The GUI is as perfect as before.
Is there something I can do to still start into run level 5 other than going to a hardware repair shop ? Something like not loading the DDC module(supplying modelines/refresh rates)?
