i had an email server email.myserver.com with a corresponding nameserver ns1.myserver.com
and now, i have a new email server email.myserver.net with a corresponding nameserver ns1.myserver.net since email.myserver.com is down i wanted all emails destined for the .com domain to goto .net domain. I changed the mx entry in ns1.myserver.com from email.myserver.com to email.myserver.net now when i query the mx entry after logging into the ns1.myserver.com box, i get the correct and updated value ( email.netcustomer.net) where as, if i login into my ns1.myserver.net and query for the mx entry it says nslookup Default Server: ns1.myserver.net Address: 203.X.X.136 > set type=MX > myserver.com Server: ns1.myserver.net Address: 203.X.X.136 Non-authoritative answer: myserver.com preference = 10, mail exchanger = email.myserver.com Authoritative answers can be found from: myserver.com nameserver = ns1.myserver.com email.myserver.com internet address = 203.X.X.140 and all mails which are sent from outside of the email.myserver.net box, with the to address as [EMAIL PROTECTED] are not reaching email.myserver.net why is my ns1.myserver.net not getting the new value from the ns1.myserver.com DNS ? anybody can please explain ?
