hi kingsly,
i too have a philips tuner card based on the bt878 chipset. do you use 
additional hardware to remote control or the default gadgets shipped suffice?
with my purchase i got,
1 the card
2 FM radio cable
3 A remote 
4 A remote sensor cable.

did you need something else to configure ?
