| i recently got DSL for my Cyber from BSNL. now they dont have a Router | to share the connection so right now i m sharing the connection with | floppyfw | linux router box. but i have few problems here i cant telnet the server | infact i hav put the package. and the hotmail is damn slow. | | so i want to know one more thing. is it better to go for a Router or | the floppy | Router is good for my cafe. i m also thinking of Replacing floppyfw | router with Freesco. so which one is better now? i want to block | certain sites | and also want to block certain files to be downloaded in the network | such as | .exe and also .pif. will freesco help me with this? | and if i can buy a router for my BSNL network which one should i go for | now ??
Not directly answering your question... VIA has an excellent mother board EPIA (10 MHz CPU) costing Rs6800 and measuring 6x6 inch with lots of feature like 4xUSB, Ethernet, VGA, etc etc. The board is a excellent for router. You do not need a floppy ( although it has connector for floppy and IDE too) as you can boot from flash drive. You can additional Ethernet port on USB. I have already tested it with kernel 2.4.
