Has anybody installed FC1 on Intel board with onboard eepro100...? Is there any bug with eepro100 module with FC1 ?
I've installed FC1 on two Intel server motherboards, the SHG2 and SE7505VB2. Both autodetected and installed the right drivers for the onboard 100 and 1000 MB NIC's... but I don't remember if the default FC1 kernel used Donald Becker's original drivers or Intel's open-sourced drivers by default for the 100 MB NIC.
I'd subsequently downloaded and compiled a pristine kernel from kernel.org (I never run Redhat/Fedora with their default kernels anyway... there's too much bloat in them) with eepro100 and eepro1000 drivers, and both NIC's worked perfectly.
[personal opinion] - Intel's Eepro100 and Eepro1000 are an excellent choice for NIC's on a server running linux.
I second that. Try with the latest version of Intel's drivers. Beckers drivers have been broken for a long long time.
