I found snd-intel8x0 is already loaded.
alsamixer gives the message "No elem found". Any hint why it isn't. Though I have tried alsamixer under fedora core 2 and it was working but still there was no sound. I can see my xmms player as well as kscd playing but there is no sound at all.
I have an Intel 810 sound chip and alsa detects it.But setting xmms or kscd to alsa output does not work and I now use OSS to play my audio files.Strange but true!
