Hi,
Linux in SATA(Serial ATA)hardisk can be installed by changing HDD configuration in Bios to PATA(Parallel ATA).
I had same problem with fedora Core1 installing.
Harddisk wont be detected while booting with linux CD from CD ROM..

Hi!

I have an AMD 64bit 2800 Athlon, 512MB DDR333, Asus
K8N with nVidia chipset nForce3, GeForce XFX 128MBDDR,
SATA 80GB HDD, waiting for fresh LINUX installation.

I have Fedora Core3 64bit, i m able to start the
installation, till the time it asks me to partition my
SATA Disk. It even loads the nvidia drivers, but does
not detect my HDD.

What could be wrong and what should i do?

Ratnakar

Note: I had even tried installing MS Windows 2k pro.
and it worked smoothly on it.
