Save that patch somewhere (say /tmp/patch.diff). Download the sylpheed source tarball - unless you already have it. Untar it. Change into the source directory (cd sylpheed-whatever). Run this command: patch -p4 < /tmp/patch.diff - keep an eye on the messages it gives out. Build sylpheed (./configure; make; make install). That should be it. All this, assuming you built sylpheed from sources. Binand ------------------------ In my case, it was installed originally with debian sarge installation (PCQ DVD) by apt. How to do for that? I am also having the same prob, but I thought it is the BSNL broadband that is playing the trick. This did not crop up when I was using dial up. I cannot say for sure exactly it has started from the moment I started in broadband way. But anyway the problem is there. One more thing, in Deb, the connection is there simply on booting. I configured rp-pppoe , but adsl-start does not work, it gives an error mesage > /dev/null 1&2 This error problem also is reported in ILUGC. Does all this add up to something?
