Nope, the Linux India Organisation can also be referred to as the
Linux India Dis-organisation -- there is no elected body and no formal
membership. However, Thing Still Work after a fashion, and to me this
looks like the right way of doing things -- the community pools
resources together when required, when there's no requirement there
are no office-bearers and no rule-makers. Active Anarchy at work.
Individual LUGs may have elected bodies and formal registration. For
instance, I do know that ILUG-Delhi is a registered society with
elected officials. The elections were held by secret ballot a couple
of months ago.
