The use-case is : There is quite a bit of
documentation of interest that I come across now and
then (often html or text), I want to create a
searchable repository out of these and add/delete any
other documents from the repository.

I checked the link for DocBook, the DocBook structure
seems to make it easier for tools to search the
document. But I am not keen on creating documentation
from scratch. Document creation/conversion effort
should be minimal. Also it is desirable to have a
search facility that is part of help.
(chm format is pretty good w.r.t this).

Stumbled upon this article after further search "FOSS
help authoring tools falter"
http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/42445/

Can search facilities like beagle/htdig with some
customization help?
I came across a tcl based IDE which seems to have nice
help. The UI for help was not as elegant as I would
have liked it to be but it works. Will explore
further.

thanks and regards
Shiv
