3. Suspend and hibernate?

Hibernate works great for me on my Thinkpad R51 using FC4.
You can find all info at http://suspend2.net
You would need to download a patched kernel and the hibernate script.

The only hitch is that after putiing the lid down, and re-opening it,
I get a garbled screen (so I need to restart X), but I think its mostly due to
some of the kidagiri I had done and not related to the suspend feature.

X and alsa are traditional trouble spots during suspend / resume, as is the
ipw2200 centrino driver (which tends to bitch when gettign compiled if you
have the swsusp2 patches in .. i think thats fixed in more recent versions)

There're faqs on how to deal with these though (basically shut down X and
save session, shutdown alsa, reload both and restore settings on resume)
