Yes

Certainly not your linux server, but maybe the computers accessing them via 
cache.
I suggest you can use acl's to block certain file extensions that certainly 
contain viruses from access by users: e.g. .pif, .bat, .com etc

Also block all known URL's that distribute spyware/ viruses
