HI Manoj,
See the O'Reilly Sendmail book , Indian edition is
recently released.

Ruleset 0 determines which mailer is used for
local mail. Each mailer has it's own header rewriting
rules. There are two sets of rules for the sender address,
one for envelope and one for header. For the local
mailer , you need to tweak the header From ruleset
so that it does not Masquerade.

You can also check which rulesets are using $=M
and $M and change the appropriate one. Make the mods
in a local copy of the sendmail.cf file. Test your
changes using 'sendmail -bt -C localcfname'

I have forgotten the details of sendmail, but I hope
the sketchy reply will help you narrow it down.
