IF you are talking about the CPU serial number identification in Pentium
III , then you are out of luck. The KErnel in 2.2 explicitly
disables Processor Serial Number (PSN).
Check /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/kernel/setup.c ... near line 730
But I haven't tried out Arun's method.. I haven't got access to a P III..
