Dear Panchal,
I had encountered similar problems once. It seems the problem
originates from your BIOS settings. Get into BIOS setup at boot
time and disable the "Virus Protection" option. Now everything
should run just fine. Somehow this protection hinders Scandisk's
access to the HDD during a thorough check; there is no problem
with the multitasking nature of Windoze, just make sure that no
program is actually trying to write to the HD during scan.
Sameer.
