most likely you've got the necessary X components already installed.
fire up Xconfigurator , or XF86Setup and fill out the necessary details ,
after you're logged in as root. try also checking out
http://linux-howto.org/ - the Getting X to work HOWTO.
you might find http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP useful too.
doing a man X or a man XConfigurator etc might also help.
