The default SVGA server that ships with the PCQ and the CHIP CDs may not
support the SiS cards as well as it is supposed to. A possible solution is
to use the server from suse (try looking for it in www.suse.com, where
there is a link to 'X-servers' on the homepage), which are XFCom servers.
The server for SiS cards is only a 1MB download, and it seems to fix the
problems related to SiS 6326 cards, at least. At my home, I was able to
get a perfectly fucntioning server (1024x768, 16 bit) , with the new
server, though higher color depths still give problems. Hope this
informations is of some use.
