hello
in linux if u want to give a single alphabet option then u give the
'-', but if u want to give an option that is more than one character long
then we use '--'
as in
ls -a - --color |more
or
ls -al --color |more
u can even concatenate to single character options in to a single string.
thats where it helps us to differentiate with single character & string
options
