we can manage with out using two dns configurations.  the track i took was
to install the caching dns server, which is available as an rpm with the
standard distribution.  then read the DNS-howto to add a new zone for
digitelnet.net, with proxy.digitelnet.net as the nameserver.  if some one
wants I can upload the tar archive of the named.conf and files in
/var/named.
