Hi Zafar, True to Ur words,I did come across this prob'.Just edit XF86Config file(U've to be root to do this & after keeping a backup) as #mcedit /etc/X11/XF86Config ( OR by any editor U like) Now,If U've SIS6215c(U've not mentioned Ur Display Card,so I'll assume this),search for the string "sis" & to that block of lines, add the following lines: Option "no_accel" Option "no_bitblt" If this doesn't work, U better mention Ur configuration next time. But before this,U must read the archieves & HOWTOs,in this case, /usr/doc/HOWTO/XFree86-*-HOWTOs . ------------ ORIGINAL MESSAGE ------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 20:20:23 +0530 From: "Beyabani, Syed Zafar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [LI] **Newbie Problems Hi there, Hope someone has already solved this problem before. I have installed Linux redhat 6.1 from PCQuest (Gnome workstation). - ---> The Gnome Terminal program run in X-windows displays a window in which the text is not visible, both the typed and the output text. All it shows is a background silver color. I have tried changing color configuration to no avail. The text appears normally when i drag another window on top of terminal window. Also this is the case in the text editors like the notepad in Gnome. Can someone help me, please?
