http://freshmeat.net, the outstanding Linux software index and announcement Web site,
is seeking a part-time associate
located in a time zone where the U.S. Eastern Time Zone hours of midnight to 6 a.m.
are part of the normal workday, not
the middle of the night.

We need someone to evaluate, edit, and immediately post software announcements
submitted during these (to us) late night
hours. This is easy work for anyone who has a good grasp of current Linux software
offerings, decent writing skills (in
English), and access to a stable Internet connection.

Training and most communication will take place via IRC. Pay rate is yet to be
establihed, but it will be in US dollars.

Our current work pattern is to have the "on duty" editor check for submissions every
1.5 - 2 hours during his or her
shift. Depending on the number of submissions that have been made since the last
check-in, it may take anywhere from 10
to 30 minutes to evaluate, edit, and upload each batch of annoucements. This is a
perfect opportunity for a
self-employed software developer or someone engaged in some other activity that
permits frequent breaks - and does not
prohibit "outside" work.

If - and only if - you have the qualifications listed above, and you are already
intimately familiar with freshmeat,
please send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I will answer all inquiries shortly after
January 1 (western calendar).

PS - as a fringe benefit, you will get a presitigious (at least within the worldwide
Linux community) "@freshmeat"
e-mail address!
