i have a suggestion,if a hardware compatibality list relavent to hardware avilable in
india is maintained at www.linux-india.org.then it would immensely benifit new user's
or people who are planing to upgrade thier m/c. if a hardware compatibality list is
avilable then card's like trident 9750 & internal pci modems can be *blacklisted* so
that user's intending to buy new hardware can be forewarned and make a more informed
choice with regard to linux. here's a link where you can find
wether a particular modem is win modem or
Linmodem(http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html).
If you have a modem which works with linux & want to share this info With other linux
users then please forward the details of your modem including the fcc id of the
modem.to [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that many more modems can be branded as linmodems .hope
my suggestion about the h/w compatibality list becomes a reality soon.
