Hi everybody, Here comes Day 2. As usual the start delayed by half an hour because of some mouse problem. The session started at 11.00 a.m. with Gopi giving a beautiful explanation on DNS. Concepts, history and Configuration of Linux Box as a DNS Server. Then It was Atul's turn to explain the Mail server setup - Sendmail. Fetchmail & Dial Up connectivity was left for the second session. ******** Lunch Break ************** The second session started with Gopi explaining Leased Line Connectivity issues. Components required for leased line connectivity. Avi ( Avinash Shenoy ) also narratted his experiences about Radio Link connectivity and then Gopi winded up this topic by explaining Wan connectivity through settelite. Then Atul took over and showed us how to establish dial up connection ( no there was no kppp, wvdial etc. ). He showed it using netconf and in the end we created a script to automate this process : ie.: Establishing connection using netconf Invoking Sendmail Then running fetchmail Disconnecting Dial up connection again using netconf. Then we proceeded to Lab : where we actually installed a fictitious DNS server on the same machine where we had installed Linux Server yesterday. I was able to setup DNS server. But I have still got a small query which I will send in a separate mail. Till tomorrow.
