Hi,

   The following option should solve the problem of text appearing as 
   black boxes on SIS cards
   
   Option "xaa_no_color_exp"
   
   The XF86_SVGA manpage states that text with black bar problem
   occurs because of hardware color expansion problem with some
   cards.  I had the same problem with my SIS6326 card but including
   the above option solved the problem. 
   
   BTW the option has to go into the "Device" section of the 
   XF86config file.
