Works fine (2.2.13) with my SH688+DI27 and SLIP.

Much easier with my Canon BJC-80 and lpd.  I had difficulty at first
because /dev/ircomm0 seemed not to be going into raw mode.  Once
I managed to set that by hand, all went well.
