Hello Dag, I want to activate the IR port of my PC box, and use it with a Palm organiser. The I/O chip on the main board is winbond W83877F and the connector on the board (P5TX-Bpro?) has a connector indicating ... FIR (as far as I know W83877F does only SIR), now I managed to build a a small IrDA adapter based on Temic TFDS 4500 chip and I am about to start experimenting with it. The bios can "see" the infrared as UART2 disabling COOM2 but then do I have to go for HP standard and some other parameters that I do not know how to configure that? Do I have the chance to get something working or the hardware I use is rather old ;-( I have updated the latest version of the linux kernel 2.2.12 but I have not applied your latest patch yet.
