I have problems with getting the IRDA serial connection to work on my
BESTPal.
Processor is 133Mhz Cyrix MediaGXi-S, IrDA chip is: TFDS-6000. It's
supposed to be compatible with 4MBs IrDA 1.1 FIR. My modem is NOKIA
9000.
Here is some more info about it:
"Temic components
TEMIC makes TFDS-3000 and TFDS-6000 SIR integrated transceivers.
These are similar to the HP HSDL-1000, but are not
pin compatible. The TFDS-3000 works over a 3.3-5.5V supply voltage
range. The TFDS-6000 is a 5V only part that handles the extended
4mbps data rate. They have very nice datasheets on their WWW pages."
I'm running on Redhat 6.1, kernel 2.2.13 with patch-2.2.13-irda2.
It seems for me like my phone won't talk to the IrDA on the laptop.
Irdadump shows nothing. Do I need to compile some of the FIR device
drivers in kernel? Which one?
What's bugging me is that this setup worked for me once, but now I
cannot reproduce it.
I have tried to make it work with several kernels, with and without irda
patches applied with no luck. :-(
I have included a log which shows what I have done to try to make it
work.
This one is from 2.2.13 w/irda2 patch.
Any ideas?
