Hi Arjen,
I tried dongle_attach, but it didn't do much good. Could you tell
me the sequence of things you do, so I can give your working scheme
a shot. It would be greatly appreciated!
BTW, I tried to apply the irda8 patch to my already irda7-patched stuff.
No major success, I must admit... Is there some magic switch you have to
give to patch to make it work?
Best regards,
Per Wallner

Hi,
I wanted the same thing and have mostly the same configuration (same kernel,
patches and util). It works for me. I use a Girbil as dongle. The only big
difference is that I use dongle_attach to attach my dongle. Perhaps you have
forgotten that?
dongle_attach <device> -d <dongle>
