Hi,

I've recently started to play around with my IrDA port of my ThinkPad. I'm
in particular interestet in conecting two linux boxes (in this case two
identical TP's) via IrLAN. This basicaly works fine, but the two ThinkPads
don't reconnect probable after the conncetion got lost. Is this a known
problem? (I start irmanager with the -d1 option on both TP's, which then
executes the /etc/irda/driver scripts. These on both machines identical
and do an irattach /dev/ttyS0 ; modprobe irlan) BTW: I use irda-utils
0.9.5.

2nd: I've modified the irmanager code sligthly, so that now, when the
irmanager gets a SIGTERM, SIGINT or SIGHUP it first closes the irda
device, and then, before it exists finaly, it executes '/etc/irda/drivers
stop'. Due to these small changes it is now possible to let the 'drivers'
script free and unload all irda resources cleanly when the irmanager
exits (BTW: these changes only change the behavior of the irmanager, when
it exits, so it is not responsible for the reconnect problem)

Dag: are you interested in these changes?

Martin
