Hi there,
back to the smaller of problems for a while...

I'm still trying to connect a Palm to my linuxbox as below, frantically patching back
and forth...
At least I get new things happening. Such as, when I do 'pppd ircomm0 115200 silent
noauth local nodetach ip1:ip2'
syslog tells me:

Dec 10 11:20:41 gal kernel: IrDA (tm) Protocols for Linux-2.2 (Dag Brattli)
Dec 10 11:20:41 gal kernel: IrCOMM protocol (Dag Brattli)

Dec 10 11:24:04 gal modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108
Dec 10 11:24:04 gal kernel: registered device ppp0

Dec 10 11:24:04 gal pppd[755]: Using interface ppp0
Dec 10 11:24:04 gal pppd[755]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ircomm0

What on earth is char-major-108????
